Superstore: The 10 Best Characters Introduced After Season 1

Superstore had a great cast of actors and characters during its 6 season run, and most of the best characters were introduced in the first season, many as early as the first episode, from Amy Sosa to Jonah Simms.

Although most of the supporting characters were also introduced in the first season, there were still some lovable and memorable characters who made their first appearance later in the series. From Dina’s beau Dr. Brian Patterson to Glenn’s wife Jerusha, these are the best Superstore characters that fans fell in love with after the first season.

10 Justine Sikowicz

Justine was an employee at Cloud 9 and was a recurring character who first appeared in the second season of the show and continued her story arc throughout seasons 3 and 4.

Justine had a strong and unique personality that fit in well since every character on the show seemed to be their own personal brand of weird and somehow had the confidence to let their odd and quirky opinions be known to everyone. Justine was no different, especially in the break room meeting conversations.

9 Jeff Sutton

Jeff was a corporate Cloud 9 leader, and the employees on the show had a difficult time adjusting to his harsh all-business style of leading when he was introduced in season 2 of the show.

Jeff eventually gets along with the employees the more time he spends time at the store and develops friendships with many of them. He even begins a romantic relationship with main character Mateo.

8 Isaac

Isaac was only in a few episodes of the series but his status as a seasonal employee makes the lack of screen time more realistic. Isaac was introduced in season 2 and appeared in multiple episodes over the next few seasons.

Isaac would often interject himself into conversations the main characters were having, as he was a character who would get easily annoyed with others.

7 Jerusha Sturgis

Glenn Sturgis’ wife Jerusha is portrayed by Reno 911’s Kerri Kenney-Silver, and she wasn’t introduced until the third season. Glenn and Jerusha have a unique relationship, from the way they met to their several foster children and welcoming Dina’s baby into their family as their surrogate.

Jerusha will say almost anything that comes into her mind in a hilarious deadpan way, and that includes embarrassing family secrets about herself or Glenn.

6 Jerry

Jerry was one of the most beloved supporting characters on the series and was introduced to the show in season 2 when Carol and Sandra met him at a bar.

Sandra and Jerry immediately click, but Carol intervenes and begins dating Jerry instead to hold it over Sandra. When Jerry falls into a coma after the tornado episode, Sandra stays by him, and eventually the two are married.

5 Kelly Watson

Though Jonah and Kelly’s relationship was doomed from the start and Kelly might not be the most memorable character, she still had several episodes and played an important role in Jonah and Amy’s romantic storyline.

Kelly was introduced as a Cloud 9 sales associate in season 3 and appeared in several episodes after her introduction. Kelly was an enjoyable character but wasn’t as quirky as a lot of other characters and was mostly defined by her relationship with Jonah. However, she was still charming and fun to watch, and it was easy to see why Jonah liked her.

4 Laurie

Laurie replaces Jeff as the district manager in charge of overseeing several Cloud 9 stores, including the store Superstore focuses on.

Laurie is even more strict than Jeff was and doesn’t come around to the employees like Jeff eventually did. Amy attempts to convince Laurie that she would make a great manager in a comedy of errors that goes from pleading with her to trying to blackmail her.

3 Sayid

Sayid wasn’t introduced to the show until season 4, and like a lot of the supporting characters, he has a strong personality that sometimes clashes with other characters in the story.

Sayid’s main storylines included arguing with Amy over the room that he usually prays in when she starts using the room for privacy to pump breast milk. He is also a Syrian refugee and was involved in Mateo’s undocumented immigration status storyline.

2 Alex The Beverage Guy

Alex, usually referred to as the beverage guy, only appeared in 3 episodes of season 3, but he still made an impression on fans as a potential romantic interest for Amy over the course of his guest appearance on the show.

Amy and Alex go out on a few dates together and have a fun rapport, whether he’s actually delivering beverages to the store or just using that as an excuse to talk to Amy while she’s on the job, and it was a cute mini romance while it lasted.

1 Dr. Brian Patterson

Dr. Brian Patterson appeared for a few episodes near the end of the series as Dina’s boyfriend who often visits the Cloud 9 superstore, becoming a recurring character in season 5 and season 6. Dina and Brian hit it off after an odd start, but the two actually work together well for a while until Dina is no longer happy in the relationship.

While Brian was on the show he was involved in various store antics, from helping Dina expose the “Customer Safari” game employees were playing to bringing a pig into the store. Actor Rory Scovel’s extensive work in sitcoms and stand-up comedy helped let this character easily enter the Cloud 9 world.
