Teen Titans Go: Robin’s 10 Best Moments, Ranked

As the leader of the Teen Titans, Richard “Dick” Grayson (aka Robin) is known to go to extreme lengths to make his team perfect in Teen Titans Go! Though his intentions are always good, Batman’s former protégé thrives on power hence he leads the Titans with an iron fist so as not to lose control over them.

Robin’s tyrannical methods don’t exactly make him unlikable since he always has a way of justifying his actions. The caped and masked hero has had plenty of incredible moments over the 329 episodes that have aired so far. The moments have ranged from heartwarming to shocking to ridiculous – and these are some of the best.

10 Robin Becomes George Washington

Raven brought back George Washington using a time machine in Season 2’s “Money Grandma” to teach Robin how to be a good leader. Instead of taking the lessons, Robin jumped into the time machine, went back to 1776, and became the first President of the United States.

The moment not only highlighted Robin’s thirst for leadership but was also a creative take on time travel. The little details were even more impressive. Cyborg’s bemusement as he watched the face on the dollar bill turn from George Washington to Robin was comical. The team watching a documentary about the great things President Robin was even more hilarious.

9 Robin Recruits Santa Claus And The Tooth Fairy Into The Teen Titans

Robin was keen on maintaining his streak of preventing 52 crimes every year in Season 4’s “The Streak.” When other Titans tried to stop him, he fired them all and hired Santa Claus and The Tooth Fairy.

Robin’s authoritarian leadership style hasn’t always worked for him since his orders are often disregarded. His decision to handle insubordination differently by actually firing fellow Titans works for both him and the audience, as everyone loves Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy hence their introduction was very welcome. When his fellow Titans were finally rehired, they were humbler, making sure to not cross him again.

8 Robin Gets ‘Scammed’ By A Internet Driving Instructor

The rest of the Titans got tired of driving Robin around in Season 1’s “Driver’s Ed,” forcing him to confess that his license had been suspended. Reason? He wrecked the Batmobile. Robin then hired a driving instructor from the internet but the person happened to be a bank robber who planned to use him as a getaway driver.

Robin’s naivety has always caused him problems and it seemed like the same was about to occur here. But there was a twist. Robin was actually aware of what he was doing and wanted to be a Master Getaway Driver. When the instructor confessed, Robin also confessed before summoning a multidimensional entity to snatch the driver and take him away.

7 Robin Loses His Booty

Robin lost his booty while doing the Booty Scooty Dance too aggressively in Season 5’s “Curse of the Booty Scooty,” forcing the Titans to go on a journey to find it. With the help of Batman, they located it.

This was one of the moments that qualified Teen Titans show as one of the cartoon shows that are written for both adults and kids. And it wasn’t just about humor. There was an educational element in the scene. Robin shaking his booty too hard in order to impress his fellow Titans was a moment meant to comment on people trying too hard to impress others on social media only to lose a part of themselves.

6 Robin Sets Off The Typocalypse

In Season 6’s “Zimdings,” Cyborg complained about Robin’s excessive use of the Comic Sans font. Fed up with the complaints, Robin decided to use the Zimdings font only to set up the Typocalypse. Apparently, Zimdings was a dangerous font created by the villain Winston Q Dingbert.

Robin’s decisions have often created problems for the rest of the Titans, but here, it wasn’t his mistake. Even Cyborg later admitted that the kind of font didn’t matter but what did matter was what was being communicated. Once again, Robin’s problem-solving skills were also demonstrated as he was able to end the Typocalypse quite quickly.

5 Robin Tries To Join The Justice League

The show parodied America’s Got Talent in Season 4’s “Justice League’s Next Top Talent Idol Star.” In it, the Justice League wanted to recruit a new member. Eager to impress, Robin pulled off all manners of tricks but he ended up messing so bad that he knocked out his mentor Batman (one of the judges) with a motorcycle.

Robin’s desperation to join the Justice League was understandable since the other Titans have always frustrated him. He has always tried to get away from them but has always found himself back. Robin also considers himself a superior hero to the rest of the Titans hence the need for him to want to work with the very best.

4 Robin Has A War Of Words With The Powerpuff Girls

The Teen Titans teamed up with the Powerpuff Girls to take down Mojo Jojo in the Season 4 crossover episode “TTG v PPG.” Before agreeing to work together, Robin engaged in a heated exchange with the girls, describing them as babies who needed teenage supervision. Blossom wasn’t having it.

Robin’s arrogance is always a part of his character and it’s no surprise that his fellow Titans were hoping for him to get beaten by Blossom. However, he has always been wise enough to not let personal differences interfere with the tasks at hand. Despite having a low opinion of the Powerpuff Girls, Robin chose to work with them, and together, they were able to take down Mojo Jojo.

3 Robin Tries To Get Superpowers

Exhaustion from fighting one of the most powerful Teen Titans villains, Mammoth, in Season 1’s “Super Robin,” made Robin lament that the other Titans had it easy because they have powers. He thus tried to fuse himself with a bird but only got a beak without powers. A sympathetic Raven then offered to give him powers if he did the chicken dance, which he did.

Like Batman, not having powers has never been a problem for Robin but seeing him go to extreme lengths to get in order to make work easier for himself was fun to watch. The episode reminded viewers that Robin was fine as he was since he became too capable after acquiring powers. As a result, the services of other Titans were no longer needed, resulting in boring days for even Robin himself.

2 Robin Searches For His Missing Sandwich

A devastated Robin went on a mission to locate his missing sandwich in Season 2’s “Sandwich Thief.” He stopped at nothing on his quest to find it, going as far as to travel through time and make forays into an alien world. By the time he found it, the sandwich had turned into a villain.

Nothing ever comes between Robin and his love for snacks so it was in character to do everything in his power just to get one sandwich when he could simply buy another. The animated show’s absurdities are what make it fun. Fans would never expect to see a sandwich as a villain in a live-action DC movie or series, but on Teen Titans Go! the plot feels normal.

1 Robin Goes Online Shopping To Locate Raven

In Season 5’s “Collect Them All” all Teen Titan members – except Robin – turned into collectibles. Robin then went on a shopping mission to get them but finding Raven proved difficult. He thus resorted to online shopping to locate the toy Raven had turned into.

The extent to which Robin went to get back his fellow Titans proved why he is the best choice to lead the team. Since he doesn’t like them, he could have chosen to let them go but he instead made it his life’s mission to locate them. Even better was how the struggles of online shopping were explored, with Robin getting a Raven toy that had plenty of problems and wasn’t actually Raven.
