Teen Wolf: Allison Argent’s 5 Best Quotes (And 5 Of Lydia’s)

The central friendship of Teen Wolf is the one between Scott and Stiles, but the rest of Scott’s pack also have their own friends. Allison and Lydia are one of the show’s key female friendships, and their relationship has a richer arc than some of the others. Though very different, the two girls also share a lot in common, including their involvement in the supernatural world.

Allison and Lydia are both very quotable, but for different reasons. Lydia is the wittier of the two, and she’s more likely to say something totally unexpected. Allison is more rational, thoughtful, and emotional. She’s driven by her morals, while Lydia follows her logic. Nevertheless, both characters are to thank for some of the show’s most memorable quotes.

10 Allison: “I Want To Feel Stronger Than That.”

Before Allison discovers her family’s hunting history, she feels frustrated at her inability to do anything other than react. She tells her aunt that she hates the feeling of being afraid and that she doesn’t want to feel like that anymore. “I want to feel powerful,” she tells Kate.

This is when Kate decides to show Allison their family’s hidden armory. In season 2, Allison follows the path of becoming a werewolf hunter, but there’s one werewolf she isn’t willing to kill: Scott. She denies her feelings for him and follows her parents’ wishes to stay away from him, but her stray arrows are dead giveaways. Eventually, Allison realizes that power isn’t just about the weapons she wields, but what she decides to do with them.

9 Lydia: “What The Hell Is A Stiles?”

When Stiles is forgotten in season 6, the show calls back to a moment much earlier in the series where Lydia carelessly asks her mom, “What the hell is a ‘Stiles’?” The moment ends up being one of Lydia’s most iconic scenes in Teen Wolf. At this point in the show, Lydia doesn’t yet care about him, but in season 6, the repeated line takes on a different meaning.

By the final season, Stiles and Lydia have grown considerably closer. Before disappearing, Stiles tells Lydia that he loves her, and she’s frustrated that she didn’t say it back. However, as her memory of him fades, she forgets his name. In an eerie moment, her banshee powers guide her to recall his name, but she doesn’t remember what the word “Stiles” means.

8 Allison: “There’s No Such Thing As Fate.”

Allison decides that she and Scott need a break at the end of season 2. Scott isn’t upset because, he says, he’s sure they’ll end up together down the line. Allison smiles wryly and tells him that there’s no such thing as fate, to which Scott replies, “There’s no such thing as werewolves.”

This quote reveals a lot about who Allison really is. Despite everything that’s happened to her in the series up to this point, she still doesn’t believe that anything is meant to be. Scott, on the other hand, suggests that anything is as real as people believe it to be. It’s not until season 3 that Allison realizes he’s right, but she dies before she can act on her true feelings.

7 Lydia: “Someone Tried To Strangle Me, And I Survived. I Don’t Need To Hide That.”

Lydia first shows signs of growth when she decides not to cover up an obvious scar around her neck. Her mother prepares to help her with her makeup before school, but Lydia stops her. She takes ownership of her traumatic experience and tells her mom that she doesn’t need to hide what she’s been through.

Natalia agrees and expresses her pride in Lydia. It’s the first time in the show that Lydia doesn’t try to hide who she really is. Normally, she’s obsessed with her external appearance, from her clothes to the way she talks. Her choice to let her scar show is both an acceptance of herself, and of this new world she’s stepping into.

6 Allison: “Maybe You Should Stop Pretending To Suck Just For His Benefit.”

Even though they’ve just met, Allison can see right through Lydia’s act in season 1. When Scott, Allison, Lydia, and Jackson go bowling on a double date, Lydia fumbles all of her attempts to let Jackson win the game. Allison decides to be honest with her new friend and tells her that she should be herself.

Allison is probably the first person who has the courage to be so upfront with Lydia, who can be intimidating to people who don’t know her very well. This proves that Allison has Lydia’s best interests at heart, and is what gives their friendship such a strong foundation. She helps Lydia realize that her relationship with Jackson is one of Teen Wolf‘s most unhealthy.

5 Lydia: “She Still Is.”

As part of a school ritual, Scott and his friends write their initials on a library bookshelf at the start of Senior Year. Scott adds Allison’s initials next to his own, which prods Stiles to reassure him that she’d still be part of their group if she was alive. Lydia smiles sadly and says, “She still is.”

Even though Allison is gone with no hope of returning, she still leaves her impact on her friends. In this way, she lives on. Scott never stops mourning her, and years later he still feels her presence and even credits her with saving his life in the season 5 finale.

4 Allison: “I’m In The Arms Of My First Love.”

Allison’s death is one of the most memorable and saddest scenes in the series and is an event that changes the course of Teen Wolf. As she dies in Scott’s arms, she reveals that she’s loved him all along, which only breaks Scott’s heart even more. Even though they’re not together, he doesn’t want to accept that she’s dying.

When he notices that he can’t take her pain away with his powers, she says, “That’s because it doesn’t hurt.” This is when Scott realizes she’s dying, but she reassures him that it’s OK. “It’s perfect. I’m in the arms of my first love. The first person I’ve ever loved. The person I’ll always love. I love you, Scott McCall.” But even in this moment, Allison remembers her duty to the pack and to her family, and she asks Scott to tell her dad about the arrows that can kill the oni.

3 Lydia: “I’m Supposed To Call You First When I Find A Dead Body?”

Something Stiles and Lydia have in common is their logical thought process. They’re both skilled investigators and are able to merge the supernatural world with the criminal. However, in season 3, Lydia is still adjusting to this new lifestyle and sometimes ends up bungling the process.

When her banshee senses guide her to a dead lifeguard at a swimming pool, she calls the police – as any person might. However, when Stiles arrives and discovers that she didn’t call him first, he’s outraged. The scene becomes one of the most iconic comedic moments for the pair.

2 Allison: “We Protect Those Who Cannot Protect Themselves.”

Allison is known for her fighting ability, but she’s also a very caring and compassionate person. After guiding herself back onto the right path and rejoining Scott’s pack at the end of season 2, she proactively looks for ways to help him as a non-supernatural being. Eventually, she recruits her dad, and he is able to stop discriminating against non-humans.

This is a legacy Allison leaves behind after her death. In flashback sequences, Chris reveals the new philosophy Allison came up with for the Argent family. Under Gerard’s leadership, the motto had been, “We hunt those who hunt us.” Allison modified the phrase to: “We protect those who cannot protect themselves.”

1 Lydia: “Not All Monsters Do Monstrous Things.”

At the beginning of the show, Lydia is a shallow person with little consideration for others. Over time, she grows and lets her emotions show. By season 4, she takes every opportunity she can to show her loyalty to her friends, but also to help strangers in need.

After learning that she’s responsible for Peter’s madness and his subsequent creation of the dead pool, Meredith fears that she’s a monster. However, Lydia is there to comfort her and offer a sort of mission statement for Teen Wolf as a series: “Not all monsters do monstrous things,” she says, referring to Scott as an example. A werewolf may be considered a monster by others, but Scott has chosen to use his powers for good, much like Allison has chosen to repurpose her hunting skills.
