The Masked Singer offered a sneak peek of the season 6 finale as Nick Cannon teased which panelist might win the Golden Ear Trophy. As the season finale nears, fans have already been speculating about who may win the competition. Four contestants duetted with famous singers during the semifinals, including panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, to see who would make it to the finale. In the end, the Skunk and Banana Split were sent home and were revealed to be singer-songwriter Faith Evans, and the legendary David Foster and his wife/singer Katherine Mcphee. For the final episode, the Bull will go head-to-head with Queen of Hearts to see who will take home the masked trophy.
However, the contestants aren’t the only ones competing. Since The Masked Singer season 4, the show’s panelists–Nicole, Robin, Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy–have been competing against each other for the Golden Ear Trophy. After each contestant plays their first clue package and performs for the first time, the panelists must write down their first impression guess for who they think the performer is. The guesses are then locked away until a contestant is eliminated, and each panelist must read out their first impression guess and can decide if they want to stick with it or change it. Whoever has the most correct first impressions guesses is crowned the winner and receives the coveted Golden Ear Trophy.
The Masked Singer host Nick has an update for fans who are awaiting the finale so they can see which panelist takes home the prize. The sneak peek for The Masked Singer finale revealed that Nicole and Ken are in the lead with two points, while Robin and Jenny are both falling behind with only one point each. The host and panelists were both surprised to see Ken in the lead as the comedian typically has some outrageously incorrect guesses. Nick said, “At least he hasn’t allowed it to go to his head,” before Ken proudly arrived on stage wearing a long sparkly cape and black sunglasses.
Jenny has won the Golden Ear Trophy the past two seasons and typically has accurate or rational guesses for all the contestants. However, throughout The Masked Singer season 6, Jenny has only guessed Banana Split, while Robin only correctly guessed Skunk. Both Ken and Nicole correctly guessed Banana Split, while Nicole correctly guessed Pepper as singer Natasha Bedingfield, and Ken scored a point for guessing NBA champion Dwight Howard. However, if either Jenny or Robin were to correctly guess both Bull and Queen of Hearts, and Ken and Nicole were to guess incorrectly, then the panelists could catch up and have a shot at winning the trophy.
Is it possible that Ken can take home the trophy, despite his not-so-great guesses in the past? Yes, and if he wins, he surely won’t let the other panelists forget his achievement. However, Nicole already guessed Jewel as Queen of Hearts, which many fans at home have been theorizing for months. As for Bull, none of the panelists have guessed fans’ top pick, which is singer and Broadway performer Todrick Hall. Nicole did suggest she may know who Bull is but chose to keep her guess a secret to avoid other panelists stealing it. It seems for the four panelists, the Golden Ear Trophy could land in anyone’s hands, but fans won’t know until they tune in for The Masked Singer season 6 finale.
