Tom Felton Roles: Where Else You’ve Seen The Harry Potter Star

He might be best known as Draco Malfoy, but Tom Felton has had a varied career in both film and television. Tom Felton’s first movie credit was 1997’s The Borrowers, based on the classic children’s novel about a family of tiny people who secretly live in a big house, and “borrow” food and other items from the owners. Felton played Peagreen Clock in the film, one of the titular borrowers, alongside a cast that included John Goodman and Jim Broadbent. The film was a minor hit and Felton would follow up with parts in Anna And The King alongside Jodie Foster and Chow Yun-fat and Britsh TV series Second Sight starring Clive Owen.

Of course, Tom Felton’s big break was being cast as Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone. Draco is a fellow student at Hogwarts and is a snobbish bully that makes life difficult for Harry and his friends. The movie saga would run for ten years and came to an end with 2011’s Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Felton reprised his role in every entry, and also voiced Draco in several video game spinoffs.

During his Harry Potter tenure, Tom Felton found the time to work on some other projects, including horror movie The Disappeared and a cameo appearance in comedy Get Him To The Greek. In 2010 he also starred in poorly received horror flick 13Hrs, which was renamed Night Wolf for its U.S. release. In 2011 he had a major supporting role in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, playing an abusive animal caretaker whose mistreatment of Caeser (Andy Serkis) is what sparks the ape uprising in the finale.

Tom Felton became a regular presence in both movies and TV following Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. He appeared in The Apparition, Belle, historical romance In Secret and Chadwick Boseman vehicle Message From The King in quick succession. In 2013, he also starred along Vanessa Kirby in miniseries Labyrinth and appeared in the first season of cop show Murder In The First in 2014.

In recent years, Tom Felton had a recurring role on The Flash’s third season playing Julian Albert – AKA Doctor Alchemy. He’s continued to work steadily in film, appearing in Dominic Cooper action flick Stratton and 2018’s Ophelia starring Daisy Ridley. In 2018 he headed ensemble sci-fi series Origin, focusing on a group of characters stranded on a spaceship. Paul W.S. Anderson directed the first couple of episodes, but the show was cancelled after one season. Upcoming Tom Felton projects include A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting from director Rachel Talalay (Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare) and The Forgotten Battle.
