Too Hot To Handle: Chase & Carly Reveal If Their Relationship Was Fake

Carly Lawrence and Chase DeMoor immediately connected on Too Hot To Handle season 2 before their relationship quickly imploded and both halves of the couple moved on to pursue other options. Though Carly and Chase were once on bad terms, the former couple has been starting rumors of a romantic reconciliation following their content together on social media. Carly and Chase sat down on her new podcast to address their current status, if their relationship had been fake, and whether or not they slept together among other topics.

Canadian beauty Carly immediately connected with footballer Chase on Too Hot To Handle. However, their romance hit a snag when they found out what show they were on and that intimate contact was banned. Carly and Chase were coupled up for the first few episodes until Carly pushed Chase to be more open and they instead broke things off. The arrival of British beauty Tabitha Clifft immediately caught Chase’s attention. Carly was left hurt as she watched Chase quickly pursue Tabitha in front of her, but she quickly rebounded with American newcomer Joey Joy. Though Tabitha and Chase did not carry their relationship off the show, Carly and Joey surprised audiences by dating. However, exes Carly and Joey have since had a messy split.

Chase and Carly opened up about their relationship on Carly’s podcast, Now The Fun Starts. When it came to their hot and heavy romance that quickly sourced, Carly and Chase confirmed that it was authentic. They said that dating on the show was different from the real world because they spent the entire day together from the start to the finish and slept in the same bed on the first night. However, Carly added that the cameras did factor into their romance a little bit. “When you’re on big cameras everything is more intense,” Carly said. “We’re just going to play it up a bit,” she admitted. Carly said that the progress and growth shown on the show were authentic as well. “The feelings in the house were really intense,” she added before noting how much the cast members grew. Chase admitted that he felt for Carly on a rewatch, as he put her in a difficult position after their split when he quickly moved on in front of her.

Though many viewers thought the cast likely knew what they were signing up for, Chase said that Too Hot To Handle specifically cast people who were not into reality TV. He said that he was entirely shocked by discovering what show he was on. Walking out of the show, Chase and Carly confirmed that they were on friendly terms. However, Carly’s romance with cast member Joey caused a rift between her and Chase. Post-split from Joey, cast member Nathan Webb helped bring Carly and Chase back together. Carly stated that she had never slept with Chase and that they did not hook up after the show. Though Chase confirmed that he is single, he added that he sees Carly in his life for a long time. Both Chase and Carly clarified that they are friends with Gabrielle Moses, a women who Chase often posts content with and was rumored to be dating.

While Chase and Carly are very clearly on good terms following their failed romance, Carly and Chase both hinted at shade towards Carly’s ex Joey. Though they opted to not often call him by name, Carly and Joey faced a public split that saw Carly accusing Joey of cheating on her and using her for money and clout. Joey has since moved on to strike up a close friendship and potential relationship with infamous internet personality Tana Mongeau. However, Carly made it clear that she doesn’t hold grudges- even if it was awkward running into her ex on Halloween. Overall, it appears that Carly and Chase are one Too Hot To Handle season 2 couple who have formed a strong friendship.
