What Genshin Impact Version 1.6’s Release Date Is

The Version 1.6 update for Genshin Impact is coming soon. For fans of the free-to-play RPG, new content means new characters, quests, and events. This time around, if 1.6 leaks are to be believed, a whole new region will be included as well. So what is Genshin Impact Version 1.6’s actual release date?

Thank to the beta test for the 1.6 update, a lot of leaks have started appearing online. This includes screenshots of the long-awaited Inazuma region, a nation based around the Electro element, and the inclusion of boat travel. Recent leaks even point toward new character skins for Jean and Barbara, and major Genshin Impact updates also mean new playable characters being added as Banners. So, even though the Version 1.5 content started only a couple of short weeks ago, many excited fans are already looking ahead to see what’s next.

Officially, developer miHoYo has yet to announce an official release date for Genshin Impact 1.6. However, these major content updates keep to a six-week schedule. Since Version 1.5 released on April 28 (depending on a player’s time zone and country), that means 1.6 should come out on June 9, 2021. Again, this will depend on a player’s time zone and region, so some fans may be able to access the new content a little earlier.

What’s Coming In Genshin Impact’s 1.6 Update

While there will assuredly be some surprises in store for players when the next update arrives, the Genshin Impact 1.6 beta leaks have already shown off quite a bit of new content. In addition to new character skins, the Inazuma region, and boat travel, alleged new playable characters like Kazuha and Yoimiya will be Banners, and Ayaka may finally become playable as well.

Of course, a major update like Version 1.6 also means new events and quests will be coming to Genshin Impact, and new weapons and Artifacts are pretty sure bets, too. If Inazuma is actually added, then that means players will have a massive new region to explore, NPCs to meet, and a lot more story content to get through. In fact, if all the 1.6 leaks are accurate, that means 1.6 may be the biggest update the game has gotten since Genshin Impact‘s initial release last year.

Until miHoYo officially announces this content, though, it’s possible some things will change. This is common in betas, even if all the leaks are true. However, since miHoYo always updates the game at six-week intervals, there’s a good chance Genshin Impact 1.6 will release on June 9, 2021, depending on a player’s time zones and country.
