What To Expect From Legends of Tomorrow Season 7

Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Legends of Tomorrow‘s season 6 finale.

Legends of Tomorrow season 7 has been confirmed, but what new adventures await the crew of the Waverider upon their return and how will the cast be changed after the explosive season 6 finale? The cast of actors will remain largely the same, but Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will see some of the ensemble appearing in new roles. Others will be appearing in a reduced capacity.

The long-running science-fiction series about a team of time-traveling misfits who “screw things up for the better” has become something of an anomaly on the CW schedule, being the longest-running Arrowverse series after The Flash despite now featuring almost no pre-existing comic book characters and instead introducing original characters as Arrow did. Despite this, some argue that Legends of Tomorrow does the best job of capturing the anarchic spirit of the comics and conveying the weirdness of the DC Comics multiverse. Certainly, it’s the only superhero series (with the possible exception of Doom Patrol) to feature an omniscient cowboy narrator and a bowling tournament for the fate of the Earth.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The exact details of Legends of Tomorrow season 7’s story are being kept tightly under wraps, but it seems likely that the Legends will be facing a new menace. Each season of the series to date has seen the heroes tackling new problems, ranging from supervillains and demons to magical monsters and ancient gods. Given that, it’s foolish to expect anything from Legends of Tomorrow besides the unexpected, yet enough has been revealed to inspire a few educated guesses as to what the future holds.

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 7 Release Date

Despite being the last of the Arrowverse series’ to end its 2020-2021 season, Legends of Tomorrow will also be the first to return. Legends of Tomorrow is also moving to a new timeslot on Wednesday evenings at 8 PM EST, with the season 7 premiere, “The Bullet Blondes,” scheduled to air on the CW network on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. The new episodes of Legends of Tomorrow will be available for streaming on the CW website and the CW app on the following Thursday, starting on October 14, 2021.

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 7 Cast Prediction: Who Will Return?

All of the cast of Legends of Tomorrow season 6 have been confirmed as returning for season 7. Dominic Purcell, who has been part of Legends of Tomorrow since the beginning, will continue to play Mick “Heatwave” Rory as a recurring role, making occasional appearances over the course of the season. By contrast, Matt Ryan, who has played warlock John Constantine as a recurring role since Legends of Tomorrow season 3, will be joining the cast as a series regular, playing an original character, Dr. Gwyn Davies, who has been described as “an eccentric scientist from the early 20th century.” The new season will also see Amy Louise Pemberton, who has voiced the Waverider’s artificial intelligence Gideon since Legends of Tomorrow season 1, playing a flesh-and-blood version of Gideon.

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 7 Story Prediction: What To Expect

Having conquered the Legion of Doom, the forces of Hell, and the Fates themselves, Legends of Tomorrow season 7 will find the Legends facing their greatest challenge yet – navigating life in Prohibition-era America. The final scene of Legends of Tomorrow’s season 6 finale, “The Fungus Amongus,” ended with the Legends’ time-ship, the Waverider, blowing up after being buzzed by another time-ship that may have been a Loki-style time variant of the Waverider. This has seemingly left the Legends stranded in Odessa, Texas in the year 1925, with none of the advanced future tech they enjoyed on the Waverider and no way of traveling through time.

The episode titles for the first five episodes of Legends of Tomorrow season 7 have been released and hint at some of the challenges that the Legends will be facing. It seems likely that the new Gideon will be revealed in the 100th episode of Legends of Tomorrow, which will also be the third episode of season 7, and has the unlikely title of “WVRDR_ERROR_100 <Oest-of-th3-Gs.gid30n> notFound.” The Legends will apparently be trapped in the Roaring Twenties for some time, as the fourth episode is titled “Speakeasy Does It.” Presumably, Matt Ryan’s new scientist character will figure into the fifth episode of Legends of Tomorrow season 7, “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Scientist” and it seems a safe bet that Dr. Gwyn Davies will be an aspiring time traveler in the same vein as H.G. Wells’ unnamed protagonist in The Time Machine, given that he’s been described as “the team’s only hope.”
