What’s The Next MCU TV Show After Hawkeye?

Following the successful release of Hawkeye, Marvel fans are understandably eager to monitor the next MCU TV show. After the conclusion of Phase 3 in 2019, the MCU had an unscheduled break in 2020 due to COVID-19. However, the studio has since come out swinging in 2021 with 5 Disney+ TV shows and 4 movies. 2022 looks set to continue expanding the scale and scope of the MCU like never before.

The Disney+ TV shows have been largely very successful for the MCU, giving creatives the breathing room to fully explore the nuances and character traits of Marvel’s heroes and villains in a way the movies don’t have time for. WandaVision got Phase 4 off to a running start in January 2021, quickly followed by the release of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in March. In June, Loki gave fans a first proper taste of the Multiverse, and a second season is in development. The animated series What If…? premiered in August, and while more niche than the other MCU shows, it was nevertheless still well made. Closing out 2021, Hawkeye finally gave Clint Barton a chance to step out from the shadows of his fellow Avengers.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Kamala Khan, a.k.a Ms. Marvel, will be the next character to get her own MCU TV show in 2022. The show will consist of 6 episodes, as has been the case with The Falcon and the Winter SoldierLoki, and Hawkeye. While no specific release date has been set, the Disney+ MCU TV show has completed filming and is expected to premiere in early-mid 2022. Originally the show was to be released in late 2021, but the Disney+ schedule was simply too full to achieve this, with Star Wars show The Book of Boba Fett taking the last slot in December following the conclusion of Hawkeye.

While Ms. Marvel isn’t an established MCU name like Hawkeye is, the next MCU TV show should still be an exciting prospect for fans. The Ms. Marvel TV show will explore Kamala Khan’s hero-worship of the Avengers, especially Carol Danvers/Captian Marvel, as she struggles to fit in until she gains her own powers, and becomes Ms. MarvelIn a further positive step forward for diversity/representation, Ms. Marvel will feature the MCU’s first Muslim lead character, with Iman Vellani in the title role. The TV show will co-star Mohan Kapur, Rish Shah, and Matt Lintz. Bisha K. Ali serves as executive producer and head writer, while the directing team includes Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (of Bad Boys for Life and HBO Max’s upcoming Batgirl).

The Ms. Marvel TV show is just the beginning for Kamala Khan, who will then make her feature film debut in 2023’s Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, which is also part of Phase 4. Hawkeye concludes the MCU’s busiest year in its history, and while 2022 won’t be quite as crammed, it will still have plenty to offer Marvel fans on the small screen. Following Ms. Marvel, Oscar Isaac will star in Moon Knight, Tatiana Maslany will bring She-Hulk to life, and Samuel L. Jackson will return as Nick Fury for Secret Invasion. In addition to this, Werewolf By Night is set to get a Halloween special and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will end 2022 with a bang.
