Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City is a robust metropolis full of interesting people, machines, and androids. Although, the animal selection in the game is extremely limited. Maybe it’s due to the lack of natural habitats in the area and the entire setting being a metal metropolis? Who knows! But, players can find stray cats wandering about in the city. There is a very specific questline that players can follow to unlock a cat as a pet. This guide will show players how.
Cyberpunk 2077 allows players to customize almost every aspect of their time in Night City. From the very beginning of the game, players are able to change almost every part of their custom character. Then, players can choose a specific class that can alter their abilities as they level up throughout the story. From there, the decisions the player makes throughout their time in the main campaign can change the outcome of the plot. Players can even change small things like their apartment that unlocks after completing the prologue. Here’s how players can get their own pet cat in Cyberpunk 2077.
How To Get A Pet Cat in Cyberpunk 2077
To get a pet cat, head outside of V’s apartment and head to the left to find a garbage bin. The player will be given the objective to “Feed the cat” so the player will need to go out into Night City to find cat food. This isn’t something players can just buy either. Head over to Santo Domingo’s Rancho Cornado to find the Arasaka Industrial Plant. There will be tons of guards in this area. Players can either stealth this by climbing on top of the building or they can defeat all the sentries in the area. There will be a small gap that leads into a doorway. Inside the doorway will be cat food waiting on top of a crate. Now, head back to the apartment and go to the garbage bin to feed the cat.
Head to bed and return to the garbage bin to find the cat eating the cat food. Pick up the cat and the player will be given a cutscene. Now, the cat will appear in V’s apartment all throughout the game. The cat doesn’t really do much besides lay around and take up space. Basically exactly what a cat does in real life. What an immersive experience.
