Which Chicago Fire Character Are You Based On Your Enneagram Type?

Chicago Fire is one of NBC’s longest-running series with over 200 episodes. With that many episodes, the audience of the show has gotten to know the characters and their personalities, despite there being so many characters to follow. Viewers have seen characters function in their at-work and at-home lives, and each character is unique and fits into an enneagram type all their own.

Enneagrams categorize personality traits into nine distinct types. They are used to help people function better in life and their work environments.

Type 1 Strict Perfectionist – Wallace Boden

Enneagram-type ones are perfectionists. They hold themselves to a high standard and fight for what is right and good. They are by the book and do not stray from guidelines if they are given. Wallace Boden, one of the most likable characters on the show, rarely strays from regulation. He follows CFD protocol to the letter and expects those under him to follow suit.

However, Boden cannot sit back and let people above him abuse their power in the chain of command. He enjoys structure in his firehouse and relies on people like Connie and Kylie to help him maintain it.

Type 2 Considerate Helper – Matt Casey

Type twos are warm, good-natured people. They often connect with others quickly and form deep emotional bonds. Twos often put other people before themselves and make sure everyone around them has what they need to be comfortable before attending to themselves.

Matt Casey puts everyone in his life before himself. When he finds out his friend Andy Darden’s sons require help, he drops everything and moves to Oregon, despite getting serious in his relationship with Sylvie Brett. Casey left the TV show soon after accepting his new role as a parent.

Type Three Competitive Achiever – Stella Kidd

Type threes love a good project, and once they get a hold of a task, they will finish it to perfection. Type threes want results and will do whatever they have to to get them. Threes can adapt to tricky situations and make the best of them. Threes are also goal-oriented. Stella Kidd is as ambitious as they come.

When she saw a representation gap for women in the CFD, she created her own program to fix it, but she wasn’t happy with keeping it in Chicago. She expanded it to the East Coast. Stella wasn’t finished there. She became a lieutenant for the CFD, a goal she had since joining the fire department.

Type Four Intense Creative – Christopher Herrmann

Type fours are intense when expressing themselves and connecting with others. Fours are known for their creative spirit. Fours are always looking for their purpose in life, and once they have found it, they stick to it. As an emotional type, fours try to help people connect with their emotions or help them through hard times.

Herrmann’s purpose is to help young firefighters achieve their dreams in and outside the fire department. He also uses his creative energy at Molly’s to keep the bar successful.

Type Five Quiet Specialist – Kelly Severide

Type fives are great observers and use their more reserved nature to their advantage. Fives are less emotional than other types. When they are going through hard times, they often disconnect from the people they care about most. But even in the best of times, fives are independent and don’t mind spending time alone.

Severide uses his powers of observation to his advantage when working on arson cases. When dealing with some of the worst things to happen to a main character on the show, Severide disconnected from his fellow firefighters. Severide likes his personal space in his officer’s quarters instead of being in the common area of the firehouse.

Type Six Loyal Skeptic – Randall “Mouch” McHolland

Type sixes value duty and service over anything else. They are committed to doing the right thing and being reliable. But sixes are cautious; they never enter a situation unprepared. Sixes are team players. They love supporting anyone on their side, especially if it means a situation will be more secure in the end.

Mouch is one of the oldest members of firehouse 51; despite experiencing health issues and reaching retirement age, Mouch’s life is at the firehouse. Duty and service sum up Mouch’s personality on Chicago Fire perfectly. He has had many positions where he advocates for his fellow firefighters. Sometimes, Mouch sees the worst-case scenario and needs a solid plan before taking on anything.

Type Seven Enthusiastic Visionary – Blake Gallo

Type sevens are doers. They are not content when they have to sit around and wait. Sevens are constantly striving for a better future for themselves. While they are always up for an adventure, sevens are practical when planning their futures and making the best visions a reality.

Blake Gallo gets himself into trouble with his superiors because he hates waiting around. He sees a situation going south and jumps into action without permission. Gallo is always looking forward. He also finds ways to supplement his income outside the firehouse with his home brewing.

Type Eight Active Controller – Violet Mikami

Type eights are brutally honest. They are not afraid to assert themselves when they feel someone is taking advantage of them. Eights have a hard outer shell, but underneath the surface, they are big-hearted. They are known for being protective. Eights make decisions that keep their lives moving; like sevens, they don’t like sitting around and waiting to be told what to do.

Despite her name, Violet Mikami is no delicate flower. Violet knows how to hold her own in intense situations. She’s not afraid to go after what she wants and tell people what she wants.

Type Nine Adaptive Peacemaker – Sylvie Brett

Type nines don’t like to rock the boat. They instead go with the flow and make sure everyone around them is taken care of, even if it means they aren’t okay. Nines are authentic and patient people. They look to uplift others and want everyone to get along.

Sylvie is a giant ray of sunshine in the firehouse. When she’s not on calls saving lives, she’s taking care of her fellow paramedics and firefighters. Sylvie is compassionate to everyone, even those who have written off the rest of the world.
