Fans of Lucifer have been on a wild ride throughout the show’s run. Not only was it canceled by FX before being picked up by Netflix, but the show was set to conclude after Season 5 and ended up getting an additional season from the streaming service. The series is widely beloved by fans, so it’s not surprising that it was able to snag some extra renewals.
Part of the show’s far-reaching appeal stems from the fact that the characters in Lucifer all have a wide range of personalities. Some are quite literally demons, while others are angels. There are also a handful of humans that have become aware of the supernatural beings, as well as some who still remain in the dark. By taking a closer look at their personalities, fans can see the zodiac signs as Lucifer characters.

Thanks to the series being available to stream, however, fans can revisit the series as often as they like, giving them ample time to analyze the characters to their hearts’ content, finding which character they identify with the most.
13 Aries: Maze
Maze is all about coming out on top, making Aries her perfect fit. Her job as a bounty hunter has little to do with the money and everything to do with showing her power. Maze is competitive, tough, and she always does what she thinks is best.
In Lucifer Season 5, her desire to be independent ended up being detrimental to her character arc. Maze never weighs the consequences of her actions, and while her impulsiveness can pay off, it often gets her into trouble. That impulsive streak is the trait most often associated with Aries.
12 Taurus: Eve
Like most Tauruses, Eve has no problem being blunt, but it’s not because she wants to hurt peoples’ feelings. Eve cares a lot about those around her and treats all of Lucifer’s friends like her own.
She’s very open with her sensuality, and since Lucifer is the same, they clicked well in that department. However, Eve is one to hold a grudge, and she spends multiple episodes trying to make Lucifer jealous after he ends their romance. Tauruses are creatures of habit, so when someone makes a big change to their life without warning, they aren’t happy with it.
11 Gemini: Ella Lopez
Amongst the Lucifer cast zodiac signs, Ella is the epitome of a Gemini. She’s the smartest character in the show by a wide margin, and her passion fuels her work. Ella is always full of energy, and she brightens everyone’s day just by being herself.
Her optimism helps her friends get through tough situations, and she’s the one character in Lucifer that holds out hope no matter what. Like any adaptable Gemini, she’s great at fitting in with the crowd, and she once went straight from the lab to voluntarily going undercover at a nudist colony.
10 Cancer: Goddess
Every move the Goddess made when she came to Earth was based on her emotions, just as Cancers are well in tune with theirs. She was hurt by what happened with God, and she went to find comfort in her sons. She’s by no means a kind person, but she does love Lucifer and Amenadiel in her own way.
Cancers are intuitive, and the Goddess was able to pick up on Lucifer’s relationship with Chloe and use it against him. She can sense when a person isn’t being honest with her, making it hard to go behind her back.
9 Leo: Lucifer
The big question is what zodiac sign is Lucifer. No one fits the fiery Leo sign better than the devil, himself. Lucifer is bold whether it comes to what he’s saying or what he’s doing. Because of his high self-esteem, Lucifer is often praising himself and poking fun at others, which gives the urban fantasy a comedic undertone.
Despite being Satan, Lucifer is actually a warm person with a huge heart. He sacrifices himself for Chloe on a daily basis, and he always looks out for those he loves. If he gets to be the center of attention while doing it, that’s just a bonus for him.
8 Virgo: Chloe Decker
Amongst the Lucifer zodiac signs, Chloe might seem a bit harder to place. Ever since the pilot, Chloe has been hesitant to open up to the people around her, much like a Scorpio. She’s not one to joke around, and, like a Capricorn, she takes her work and personal life very seriously. However, Virgo happens to be her best fit.
Chloe never complains about how many hours she has to put into a case, as Virgos never protest the things that need to get done. She’s saved hundreds of people by always thinking on her feet, and she consistently puts her life on the line for strangers. Chloe can plan and put puzzle pieces together on a case, taking care of everything, just as a Virgo would.
7 Libra: Linda Martin
Libras are known as “masters of compromise” and Linda’s job as a therapist gives her the ability to understand everyone’s point of view. Libras also tend to be natural leaders, ready with advice and problem-solving. She gives advice to Lucifer, Chloe, and Maze, even when their problems often conflict with one another.
Linda has no problem disagreeing with her friends if it means doing the right thing. She values peace and harmony above all and has literally gone to hell and back for Lucifer.
6 Scorpio: Charlotte Richards
Charlotte can be quite intimidating to the people around her. She’s not one for sentimentality and she often rejects her own emotions. Charlotte never backs down from a debate, which makes Scorpio a fitting match.
She enjoys controversy a little too much and prefers people who speak their mind, rather than those who beat around the bush. At first, Charlotte didn’t allow herself to be vulnerable, but she is one Lucifer character who had excellent development in that department.
5 Ophiuchus: Marcus Pierce/Cain
Marcus Pierce only appears in a single season of the series, but makes a big impression. It’s Marcus, or really, Cain, who puts a lot of events in motion as a result of his actions. As the first person to take another life in all of history, Cain is cursed to live with the fallout of his actions forever – unless Lucifer can end his life.
Cain has traits from both Scorpio and Sagittarius in his makeup, which is why he’s a great Ophiuchus, the often maligned 13th sign of the zodiac that isn’t officially recognized. He’s aggressive and secretive like a Scorpio, keeping his motivations close to his chest until he sees no other choice but to tell Lucifer who he really is. Cain also goes after what he wants by any means necessary, but like any Sagittarius, absorbs knowledge like a sponge, ready to have all information available to him. It made him arguably the most intelligent villain on Lucifer.
4 Sagittarius: Trixie Espinoza
Trixie isn’t like a lot of other kids on television. Lucifer puts a lot of time into shaping her personality as she grows up, and her vibrant temperament is something that will likely stay with her through adulthood.
Zodiac fans will recognize that Sagittariuses love to go on adventures, making them great movie protagonists, and part of the reason why she gets along with Maze is because of how much she enjoys diving headfirst into danger. Many people crave excitement during their childhood, but it truly reflects who Trixie is at her core.
3 Capricorn: Amenadiel
Amenadiel is all about law and order, making him a Capricorn. When he first came to Earth he was on a mission to drag Lucifer back to hell after Lucifer disobeyed their father’s orders.
Amenadiel ran into situations where his morals no longer aligned with those of God, and he struggled to figure out the right thing to do. He isn’t used to acting on his own accord, and when he loses his wings, Amenadiel goes through a bit of a crisis.
2 Aquarius: Michael
Because they’re so different, it’s often hard to assign personality traits that resonate with all Aquarians. Michael is someone who doesn’t like to be put in a box and wants free reign of the world.
One of the worst things Michael did was pretend to be Lucifer for the first couple episode of Season 5, but he wasn’t able to pull it off quite as well as he thought he could. Aquariuses have an aura of mystery about them, and it was hard to figure out if Michael was being truthful about his motives, making Michael’s one of the hardest Lucifer zodiac signs to place.
1 Pisces: Dan Espinoza
Dan can be nothing other than a Pisces. He always trusts his gut, even if his gut tends to lead him astray. Dan sees the world in black and white and believes that people are either good or bad.
This is something that will obviously put a strain on his friendship with Lucifer after he becomes aware of his true identity. Much to viewers’ surprise, Dan is extremely imaginative and even attends an improv class at his local theatre.
