Why FFXIV’s All Saints’ Wake Is Delayed (& What Its New Release Date Is)

Final Fantasy XIV is home to many annual events throughout the year, and All Saints’ Wake is themed after Halloween and typically takes place in October to early November. In past iterations of the event, players could participate in FFXIV to earn various rewards with a Halloween motif, such as mounts, furniture, and gear. In past interactions during All Saints’ Wake, a group of traveling entertainers known as “The Continental Circus” come to Eorzea and players could even join a special instance called “The Haunted Manor” as well. Every year, fans can expect new quests and rewards from the event.

All Saints’ Wake first started in 2011 during the days of the original FFXIV before A Realm Reborn. The next event took place in 2013 after the revival of the game. Since then, All Saints’ Wake has consistently returned each year. “The Haunted Manor” instance has been a staple since its first appearance in 2016. This festive duty looks like a Halloween-decorated Haukke Manor. Players are assigned various tasks at random, such as collecting cookies, searching for pumpkins, or lighting jack-o-lanterns. The COVID-19 pandemic caused All Saints’ Wake to skip 2020, and many fans were expecting it to be on schedule for 2021.

The pandemic didn’t just prevent All Saints’ Wake from occurring last year but has also delayed the new Endwalker expansion. Game director Naoki Yoshida was heartbroken to announce the delay of FFXIV: Endwalker as this is the first expansion to not meet the set release date. This setback has pushed All Saints’ Wake to occur at a later date than normal. The seasonal event has been reported on The Lodestone to occur around late January 2022. Hopefully, the delay will give the team enough time to keep All Saints’ Wake fresh with a new story.

FFXIV’s All Saints’ Wake Event Is Coming January 2022

Even with the eight years of festivity from the event, there are still more ideas for rewards that can be added to FFXIV. Since All Saints’ Wake is themed after Halloween, it would not be out of the ordinary for the development team to add more spooky fun. Previously witch, werewolf, ghost, vampire, and pumpkin outfits have been given out as a reward. A Frankenstein’s monster outfit would be an excellent addition to the upcoming event. Another great inclusion would be a Halloween-themed black cat minion. Having a special outfit or companion allows Halloween enthusiasts to celebrate all year-round.

Each October, players look forward to the new rewards to claim from All Saints’ Wake. Final Fantasy 14 is famous for its story and the main plot is not the only place it is showcased. The development team works hard to make each segment of dialogue achieve a purpose in the event. The designs of the characters in “The Continental Circus” and “The Haunted Manor” are uniquely Final Fantasy. This event has always been a great way to share with friends in the festivity of Halloween. With All Saints’ Wake being pushed back to a new release date of January 2022 in Final Fantasy XIV, the extra time can be used to make this the best addition to the game.
