Will Among Us Maps Get Christmas Decorations (& When)

As the year draws closer to an end, many are donning their Christmas apparel and setting up festive decorations, and Among Us will likely be joining along in this holiday cheer. Some may have noticed other players already sporting some seasonal gear, and may be wondering how to access these items or when official Christmas decorations will be present in Among Us.

Those who played InnerSloth’s social deduction game during Halloween 2020 may have noticed that in addition to bat wings and witches hats for the avatars to wear, the maps were also ornamented with creepy decals. Christmas in Among Us will likely be handled in a similar manner this year. Some players already have access to holiday hats in Among Us through time travel – similar to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, these props will be accessible to all as Christmas draws nearer.

To time travel in Among Us, PC players can access the “Adjust Date/Time” option on their taskbars. They can turn off the “set time automatically” button and input “December 24th 2018” for the date and “12:15 a.m. or 12:15 p.m.” for the time. Mobile users can do this in their settings as well. Sometimes it takes a couple tries before this will work, and once the hats appear, users can change the date and time back. So what kind of novel holiday goodies can players expect this year? Victoria Tran, the newest addition to InnerSloth, recently teased that there’s “going to be quite a bit of news in December.

When Will Among Us Get Christmas Map Decorations?

While players are specifically time traveling right before Christmas Day in Among Us to receive the hats, there’s a good chance that holiday decorations will appear prior to that. If the same pattern from InnerSloth’s Halloween formula earlier this year returns, Christmas decorations on the map may appear at least two weeks prior to the actual day, around December 11th, as many fans noticed Halloween map decorations around October 17th, two weeks before Halloween.

Because Christmas is such a huge holiday, it is highly probable that seasonal decorations could show up as early as December 1st or within the first week of December 2020. This could look like Christmas lights appearing on the walls of Among Us’ maps or maybe even a Christmas tree in the corner of a room. There has been no official announcement from InnerSloth detailing what kind of holiday changes will occur, and this speculation is purely based on previous trends.

That said, Tran’s tease about “quite a bit of news in December” hints that good things are in store. A new Henry Stickman map and player accounts have already been confirmed, and it seems only a matter of days before Among Us fans know for sure what kind of holiday changes are coming to Among Us.
